Ramon M Eichenberger
Dr. Eichenberger graduated from the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2007. Currently, Dr Eichenberger is a postdoctoral research fellow who is working at the Australian Institute of Tropical Health and Medicine, JCU in Cairns on parasite-host interactions of helminth parasites, supervised by Prof Alex Loukas. He received his MD-PhD (Dr.sc.nat.) in 2016 from the Faculty of Science, University of Zurich, Switzerland, with the main focus on parasite-host interactions for Babesia canis during virulent infections using all the major "-omic" strategies, reporting the first complete genome sequence for this hemoprotozoan parasite. As a veterinarian, he was working previously on a veterinary thesis (Dr.med.vet.) on test development for bovine- and ovine cysticercoses. Besides, he was lecturer for Veterinary Parasitology at the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich and had diagnostic responsibilities in the diagnostic unit from the Institute of Parasitology, University of Zurich. He is a EBVS certified specialist in Parasitology.
